马丁/Martin

Iam a graduate of Nottingham University (BSc Hons) and have 39 years teaching experience, 30 of which has been Head of Biology at Pocklington School. As Head of Department I was tasked with, and achieved, a dramatic improvement in the number of A and A* grades at both GCSE and A level. I have also been a member of the NE/NW Standing Committee for Science and worked as an examiner. During this time I have mentored students in my roles as a Housemaster and Sixth Form Tutor and, for many years, I have been in charge of applications to study Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy and Nursing at university.

I have a wide knowledge of the academic and admissions requirements of all the main universities offering these courses in the UK as well as several abroad.  I have been on the interview panel for Hull York Medical School for 10 years and has been on the Admissions Committee (and several sub committees) for HYMS for several years. I have also worked with HYMS on their Problem Based Learning Facilitator Training programme and is now on the working party that has been created to set up a new medical Foundation Year.
